Covid 19 Preparations
Visitors can be reassured that the Jane Austen Centre is thoroughly cleaned before opening each day, with touch points such as door handles and banisters being sanitised regularly throughout.
We have extraction air conditioning in each public area and we are keeping internal doors open where possible to improve air flow. Visitors are required to wear face masks during their visit and hand sanitiser is provided at multiple points around the building.
Our staff are temperature checked at the start of each day and training on minimising risk and maximising customer safety has been provided by Visit Britain and the industry standard 'We’re Good To Go' campaign.
We have now launched a timed entry booking system which will enable visitors to better plan their trip at the point of purchasing their ticket.
This is even more important now that we have had to limit visitor numbers, and will avoid disappointment if we get busy enough to reach our new maximum capacity.
While we have had to adapt, we are striving to ensure the Centre is better than ever and that we continue to fulfil our goal - 'To inform, entertain, and make every visitor happy.'
