Jane Austen’s Alpha Girls: How Box Hill Makes Mean Girls of Us All

10am (duration 1 hour)

Venue: The Mission Theatre, 32 Corn St, Bath BA1 1UF

Emma Woodhouse is far from a flawless heroine. In Jane Austen’s portrayal of the spoiled rich girl’s defensive behaviour towards the new girl in town, she teaches us that black is never truly black, and white is often just a shade of grey. Join author Sarah Makowski to explore why we shouldn't write off Austen's less-likeable characters.
