All-day minibus tour to Hampshire tracing Jane's footsteps and life. First her birthplace Steventon, then Chawton where much of her writing took place. Visiting Winchester, King Alfred's capital of England and Jane's final resting place in the cathedral. Meander with guide Adge through the ancient streets, impressive Peninsula Barracks and castle ruins. An unforgettable and atmospheric tour.

Bring along your sewing, last-minute hemming, embroidery or latest bonnet in need of trimming to the Mission Cafe for a morning session of chatting and sharing sewing advice (or sewing woes!) with other like-minded Austen friends.
This is a non-guided free event upstairs taking place in the Mission Cafe. The cafe will be open for you to purchase your own refreshments. (No step free access to this venue)

Jane Austen: Following In Her Creative Footsteps

Listen & discuss with two authors and dedicated Janeites, as they present the struggles Jane Austen overcame in order to write her novels. They share stories of her extraordinary resilience which will inspire you to live your own creative life – whether you’re a writer, historical costumer, Regency dancer, baker, gardener, social media influencer or simply a most ardent admirer of her work.

Felicity George is author of the Gentlemen of London a Regency romance series, with the first two books available now from Orion Dash Hachette UK. Jessica Bull is author of the Miss Austen Investigates a cosy crime series, coming in 2024 from Penguin Michael Joseph.

Murder at Northanger Abbey

Join the Moonstone Theatre Company for another of their ever popular and intriguing murder mysteries. Did General Tilney murder his wife? Why did Catherine turn down her suitor? And what exactly has happened to John Thorpe? All the clues will be there to catch the killer, but will they be successfully deduced?

Jane Austen's Wills & Legal Puzzles

Venue: The Mission Theatre, 32 Corn Street, BA1 1UF

This talk by retired tax judge John Avery Jones covers some of the legal puzzles in Jane Austen’s novels, as well as those relating to her family, such as entails and wills.
It will include Jane Austen’s will and legacy duty, the estates of Mr and Mrs Leigh Perrot of Bath, Jane Austen’s father (the Rev George Austen) being trustee of a settlement owning a plantation in Antigua, the claim against her brother Edward relating to the title of his Hampshire estate, and other legal and tax matters.

Pre-Ball Dance Workshop

This Regency dance workshop is a practice session for those attending the Masked Ball in the evening, led by Liz Bartlett of the Jane Austen Dancers.

Regency Roman Baths Soiree

Venue: Roman Baths, entrance via Pump Rooms, Stall St, BA1 1LZ

A Regency Roman Baths Soiree ticket will cover the stunning two-hour soirée by the Roman Baths.
Model your most beautiful mask by the torchlit waters as twilight falls over Bath, while you enjoy musical interludes and a welcome drink.
This year there will not be a bar down by the Roman Baths, however you will be given the option to pre-purchase prosecco tokens (or a soft drink alternative) when booking your tickets.
Regency costume mandatory for this event.

Regency Costumed Masked Ball

7pm (duration 4hrs 30mins)

Venue: Roman Baths, entrance via Pump Rooms, Stall St, BA1 1LZ

A Masked Ball ticket will include a Soiree ticket as well access to the rest of the evening’s entertainment. After enjoying a magical drinks reception round the Roman Baths, dance the night away in the Regency Pump Rooms with expert dance calling provided by Liz Bartlett of the Jane Austen Dancers.
There will be a mid-evening break for a two-course dinner, seated in the Pump Rooms Reception Hall and along the Terrace overlooking the Roman Baths. A cash bar will be open for Ball ticket holders from dinner onwards.
Regency costume mandatory for this event.
