All day tour to Hampshire tracing Jane's footsteps and life. First her birthplace Steventon then Chawton where much of her writing took place. Visiting Winchester, King Alfred's capital of England and Jane's final resting place in the cathedral. Meander with guide Adge, through the ancient streets, impressive Peninsula Barracks and castle ruins. An unforgettable and atmospheric tour.

A Very Private Public Breakfast

Sample the delights of an 18th Century public breakfast just as Jane Austen did in Sydney Gardens. Bread rolls, toasted fruit bread, cake, tea (Jane Austen blend) or coffee – all in the private dining room of a typical Regency Bath house. Breakfast is accompanied with a talk by Jane Tapley.

Grand Regency Costumed Promenade

To take part buy your ticket, put on your costume and join 400+ people dressed in Regency style, for this world famous, spectacular official opening to the Festival. Accompanied by His Majesty's 33rd Regiment of Foot, and led by our own town crier, stroll through this beautiful city for approximately 1 hour.

Pride & Prejudice at the Fayre

Set aside downstairs from the busy Fayre are four 20-minute performances of this very funny adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, the condensed version by Aardvark Theatre Company. Extremely popular and great fun!

Back by popular demand! The award-winning Natural Theatre Company return to the streets of Bath with their highly entertaining promenade, wittily exploring the literary life, creative ideas, and adventures of Jane Austen. Austen’s apocryphal Undone is her lost first novel (well, it might be!). Containing original attempts of many of her celebrated characters and ideas, this is a fabulous melange of Austen favourites – with a hilarious twist. Experience the novel first-hand as it comes to life in the passages and parades of Austen’s Bath with duels, romance and scandal guaranteed!

Pre-Ball Dance Workshop

Venue: The Ballroom, Assembly Rooms, Bennett Street, BA1 2QH
This workshop is for those who want to practice their Regency dancing moves for the Jane Austen Festival Ball in the evening. The workshop will start at 3.15 with learning the basics of how sets work, progression, some terminology and steps. From 3.30pm the workshop will focus on dance moves and learning some of the actual dances to be danced in the evening!

Jane Austen Festival Ball

For 2022, The Jane Austen Festival is lucky enough to be holding their Regency Costumed ball in the stunning Bath Assembly Rooms. With calling and instruction provided by Liz Bartlett of the Jane Austen Dancers, with live music from Beau's Band. For those without Regency dance experience there is a separate workshop in the afternoon. This costumed event is a marvellous opportunity to wear your very best Regency gown or breeches. 2 course buffet supper included.
