Jane Austen's Bath - driver guided tour

9am (duration 3 hours)

Meet: Outside the Jane Austen Centre, 40 Gay Street, BA1 2NT

A combination of walking and driving visiting outdoor locations in Austen's Persuasion and Northanger Abbey. Includes Charlcombe, described by Jane as 'being sweetly situated in a little green valley', and finishes with the best view of Bath from that 'Noble Hill'.

The 5 Crescents of Bath - walking tour

10am (duration 2hrs 30mins)

Meet: Outside the main door of Bath Abbey, BA1 1LT

We all know the Royal Crescent but what about the others? With Bath Parade Guides discover more of the crescents of Bath, continuing via St Swithin's Church back to the city centre.
Includes a stop for refreshments at the Lansdown Hotel (refreshments not included in the ticket price).
Sturdy shoes and a stout constitution required as there are up-hill climbs, but wonderful views.

The one certainty in life is death. Join Maggie Barton in St Swithin's Church, the burial place of George Austen, for a light-hearted but respectful look at the rituals surrounding death, grief and funerals in Regency England.

As Danced by Jane Austen - Regency dance workshop

1pm (duration 1hr 30mins)

Venue: St Swithin's Church, The Paragon, BA1 5LY

Join the Jane Austen Dancers and try your hand at some of the popular dances from throughout Jane Austen’s lifetime. From the cotillions of her youth to the irresistible waltz.
This workshop is aimed at all levels of ability and there’s no need to bring a partner. Period costume is welcome, but not essential. We recommend wearing flat shoes and bringing a drink.

Carriages to Meryton & Longbourn - driver guided tour

1.15pm (duration 4 hours)

Meet: Outside the Jane Austen Centre, 40 Gay Street, BA1 2NT

Starting with a driving tour of Austen’s Bath, then onto the village of Luckington to visit the St Mary with St Ethelbert Church and walk in the footsteps of the P&P 1995 cast. Next Lacock – a village trapped in time and the location for Meryton & Highbury. Then back to Bath to finish with the best view of Bath from ‘that Noble Hill’.

Jane Austen's Ball - Narrated Performance

3pm (duration 1hr 30mins)

Venue: St Swithin's Church, The Paragon, BA1 5LY

The Jane Austen Dancers will take you on a journey through the Regency ballroom, with characters from history and fiction to guide us along the way. Find out the correct way to start a ball, learn what not to wear and discover some of the more peculiar rules from assemblies up and down the country.
There will be an opportunity to join in with a dance or two at the end, so pay attention to the hints and tips along the way to ensure that you do not cause a scandal as you take to the dance floor!

Tickets £19 or £33 for a combined ticket with the As Danced by Jane Austen - Regency dance workshop 


An Evening of Austen Delights

7pm (duration 3 hours)

Venue: Regency Tea Room, Jane Austen Centre, 40 Gay Street, BA1 2NT

Partake of a deliciously decadent selection of High Tea Treats, finished off with a traditional Regency pudding in the gorgeous surroundings of the Regency Tea Room. Complete with bubbles and highly entertaining Austen interpretations, why not escape for a couple of hours to this haven of literary fiction?

Regency Games Night

8pm (duration 3 hours)

Venue: Abbey Hotel, North Parade, BA1 1LF

Jane Austen was known to be particularly adept at both cup & ball, and spillikins. Enjoy a late-night evening of these as well as lottery tickets, whist, hazard and other Regency-era games, provided by John White of Select Society.
Your ticket will include a Jane Austen-themed cocktail (or mocktail) courtesy of the Abbey Hotel. A cash bar will also be available.
