The Jane Austen Festival officially opens on Saturday 10th September with the world famous Regency Costumed Promenade. The Promenade is a procession of over 500 people all in period costume and is a record breaking event. All sorts of people from all over the world participate, from the very young to the young at heart plus red coats, dancers and the official town crier.

The Promenade starts at 11am from outside the Holburne Museum, and then continues down the length of Great Pulteney Street and around central Bath. Walking in Jane Austen’s footsteps we take in many of Bath’s famous landmarks following our own Master of Ceremonies for approximately 1 hour.

To take part you need to wear Regency Costume and purchase a wristband ticket.

All participants wear their own costumes and purchase a wristband ticket to take part. The wristband includes free entry to the Festival Fayre in the Guildhall. Children under 16 are free to walk in the promenade but must be accompanied by a participating adult in COSTUME.

Time: arrive from 9.30am, depart 11am
