Works of Jane Austen

The year is whizzing by, isn't it? It feels like summer has just begun, and now there's an Autumnal chill in the air (though we're due a lovely week here in England). Let's start with the biggest news from our camp!

Jane Austen Festival to return this month!

You heard us! The Jane Austen Festival will be returning to Bath on 10th-19th September, with lots of amazing Austen-themed events taking place every day. If you are still looking to get your tickets, click here to go to the festival website.

White supremacist ordered to read the classics

A British judge this week ordered a 21-year-old caught with hoards of white supremacist and Neo-Nazi materials to read the classics, alongside a two year suspended sentence. The QC ordered him to start with Pride and Prejudice, working through a list of books in an attempt to reform him. Many have criticised the effectiveness of such a move. What do you think? Can literature reform someone?

Paltrow Emma turns 25

Can you believe it? The Gwyneth Paltrow Emma turned 25 this August. Since then, we've seen a few more Emmas, but for some, the Paltrow interpretation remains a favourite. Which one is yours?

As always, we would love to know if we've missed anything important! What do you think of all the latest news?
