Thank you for your wonderful work. Your books have been with me since I first read Pride & Prejudice in my teens, they have been there at different stages of my life, offering fun, enjoyment, sometimes consolation, and I still laugh out loud reading your witty lines (especially anything concerning Mr Bennet!). The people you observed - and depicted in such detail - are still around us today; so you will never be 'out of date'. Your depictions of people, their characters, motivations and the social scene still links with our experiences today, over 200 years later! Thank you, Jane.
Leana
Dear Miss Austen, Thank you for the incredible joy, contentment, and laughs, you have brought to my life with your written words. The delight I get from reading your novels helps brighten the foggiest day, and relieve the most miserable headaches. I appreciate all that you have contributed to our history. God Bless!
Pauline
Your writing has enriched my life.
Silvana
I couldn't imagine a world without her works. Not a day goes by that I don't think of Jane Austen or read something about her or by her. A person who has not known the world of Jane Austen must be intolerably stupid. ;)
Carol
Dearest Jane, I wonder if you have any idea of how inspiring your writing has been? Your stories captivate us to read every chance we get and then we meet in book clubs to talk about who we love and who we hate! We fall in love with your stories and they bring us together at festivals in your honour where we forget our dull lives and transform ourselves into Elizabeths and dress our husbands to be Mr.Darcy’s. We truly are happier because of you Jane! God bless you Jane!
Marco
From an affectionate Italian reader, I want to tribute to Jane Austen for the beautiful moments I lived with her novels, that witness a deep knowledge of human spirit and behaviour, and are still relevant today, because human beings and mainly young people are largely the same and share same feelings! Thank you, Jane!
Karen
Dear Jane Austen--thank you for all your treasured gifts to us; we have been aided in our travels through life's struggles, joys, disappointments, wonders and workings. I do hope there was no Mrs. Norris, Mrs Elton, Fanny Dashwood, Mr Woodhouse in your life. And thank you especially for Mrs Jennings, Miss Bates, Mrs Musgrove, Mr Collins, Sir Walter Eliot, and all the characters that let me stop and giggle in my readings. You are a blessing.
Laura
Thank you Jane for making the most beautiful and genius novels full of the most amazing and interesting characters. Your novels have helped me through tough times and reading your novels helped me discover my love of history!
Michaela
Dear Miss Austen, you're the greatest female writer. You have no idea how big impact you have on my life. Because of your work, I became a reader, bookworm and a student of literature. You're books make my life full of love and fun. You've changed my life and my personality. I admire you so much. Thank you for everything.❤️❤️💕💕

Lire Jane Austen m'a aidé dans une période de grande solitude. Mon seul moment de bien-être dans une longue période très grise, plusieurs années remplies uniquement par le travail, puis plusieurs mois de convalescence. Merci Jane. Sans toi...
Fiona
You made my rather boring teenage years so much happier and more exciting. I loved your books from my first reading of Pride and Prejudice and was devastated when I realised, after reading all 6 novels, that there weren't any more.
Veronica
Thank you, Jane, for being an inspiration to women all over the world, Your forthright views on women's rights and their status in life that you portrayed in your work (both letters and novels) still have resonance today. You were so much more than a romantic novelist and your legacy lives on. I love you and wish I could have met you.

Dearest Jane, get it girl! 💙 -Love all the ladies.

Though time has passed and the world has changed beyond recognition, your words still stir hearts and your wit remains unmatched. You taught us that quiet strength, keen observation, and deep feeling are the makings of true heroines. You gave voice to the women who dared to think, to feel, and to choose. You crafted not just stories, but sanctuaries for the lonely, the dreamers, the fiercely intelligent, and the quietly brave. You turned ink into a mirror, and in it, we still see ourselves: our flaws, our hopes, our longing to be truly known. Thank you, dearest Jane, for reminding us that love must come with respect, that character matters more than charm, and that irony is sometimes the gentlest rebellion ❤️📚"

Dear Miss Austen, Your wit still cuts, your heroines still inspire, and your stories still dance off the page with grace and defiance. You saw through society’s pretensions and wrote truth wrapped in charm. We’re still reading, still laughing, still falling in love. Ever yours, A devoted reader

Thank you for believing in your own genius; for recognizing the importance of the “small, ordinary and mundane”, for blending wit and wisdom so seamlessly, for giving women and women’s stories the attention they’d been denied, for liking us men - even as you called us to account; and for showing us that romance, family, finances, politics and religion can all be approached with humour. Rest in peace and live on in glorious prose. 🙏🏻

Gracias por tanto! Su obra siempre será recordada. Por siempre la reina de la literatura clásica🩷💐
olympia_shilpa
"Thank you for all the fierce & flawed women you created, your sparkling wit that dazzles after centuries, for such intricate observations of human behaviour in society and for using love so beautifully in your pages as a learning experience, a tool for self- growth and a process where characters journey inwards and learn truths about themselves. The only downside Jane is encountering you at 12 unfortunately set my standards for men damn too high 😂😭"
buonasaralita
I don't think Jane Austen herself could comprehend the impact she still has all these years later since she was alive. She I think truly would be overwhelmed in the best ways 💙✍🏻📜

Simply, thank you ❤️ wherever you are, you must know that 250 years later you rock.

Dearest Jane. Thank you so much for your beautiful, funny, satirical, spiritual books. They have comforted, soothed, entertained and amused me through very difficult times full of grief, inertia and anxiety. Your wonderful words make my brain very happy.

Her novels have given ne so many hours of pleasure. I love watching adaptations but nothing compares with the reading if get novels.
Joan Williamson-Kelly
I've been immersing myself in her novels and in her life story. I find it fascinating to observe from my little perch on earth what human behaviors and follies exist, and how her times were different but her characters are. recognizable. I have such compassion for her through what I have learned of her life. I feel like I know her, a bit. Jane, I bless you for your work and for your struggle. May perpetual light shine upon you in the great beyond. p.s. A huge thanks to The Jane Austen Centre for preserving her memory. Maybe someday I may visit...

Jane your novels are so inspirational , they make me happy and emotional at the same time, your incredible writing is breathtaking . When reading your novels I almost feel part of them , they take over my soul . When I am feeling low they pick me up and make me feel alive. Danse, chant, ou même broderie, mais aussi Art, Littérature évidemment et l'amour de ma vie, des petites choses aux grandes choses, l'oeuvre de Jane Austen a influencé ma vie dans tous ses plis et replis. From one Jane to another, I would like to say thank you for the characters you brought to life, heros and heroines, the ridiculous and the funny, the ones who I would love to sit down with and have a cup of tea, and the ones I would run from while screaming at the top of my voice! Your books have made me laugh and cry everytime I read them and like a cozy blanket on a cold day your stories wrap around me and take my away to a time that I wish I could visit, just for a little while!
Nicole
Thank you for paving the way for women around the world to have their voices be heard. She was an inspiration for her fellow contemporary women authors and continues to be one for women authors now. Her novels and characters are timeless and are a testimony to her wit, wisdom, and window into the human spirit. May her legacy continue for years to come!

Dear Jane, since I discovered your work in university, I have been a devoted Janeite. A lot of people read your novels for the romance, for the happily-ever-after (even though we don't really know if there is a happily-ever-after), but a lot of us, like myself, read for the social commentary, which is just as relevant today, despite all the progress we have made. You have made us laugh, and you have made us think. Thank you, from across 250 years.
Lisa
Dearest Jane , I sit here an older widow . I must tell you how much you mean to me . You have been a friend , an educator, a comfort / companion in lonely times. Thank you I must call you a dear friend .

Jane, I was eleven years old when I first read one of your books—Pride and Prejudice. And like so many girls and women before me, I fell in love with the world you created. Thank you for creating stories that would make us laugh, cry, think, and always smile; stories that always will stay with us. Your books are more than just that, they’ve influenced generations of women who have seen themselves in the multifaceted and wonderful characters you’ve built, have learned lessons from them, and have become better people because of them. I’m still young, only 15, but Jane, your stories and your life, have influenced my life in many ways, and helped me realize the kind of woman I want to become.

I don’t know how to put into words what your books have meant to me. Your characters, your wit, your insight into human nature, have all shaped the way I see the world, and the kind of woman I strive to be. I carry your words with me daily; they’ve been a source of strength, comfort, and joy. I truly would not be the person I am today without your work. Thank you for creating what you did. I can’t imagine life without you.

Dearest Jane. Thank you for being my favorite author still after 62 years of life. When I need a pick me up I read your books or watch your books on TV. How I wish you could have written many many more novels. Thank you for inspiring so many of us.
John
I discovered your wonderful novels later in life—perhaps for the best since life has given me a better perspective. Having read them all, and enjoyed them thoroughly, there is one in particular which receives little attention:Lady Susan which had me laughing out loud. All in correspondence between and among the characters, it is a delight! Thank you a thousand times!
MellowMe
Jane, Thank you so much for your lovely storytelling. It has been most educating & uplifting.
Jennifer Reinert
Jane, your legacy of love dwells on, after all these years your writing still brings joy and heart warming anticipation for your love heroes, knowing you will see them together after a little trouble, “My characters shall have, after a little trouble, all that they desire.” Forever thanks.
Liza Kh.
The World today is a better place for women and you are one of the reasons why.
Veronica Rose
Thank you, Miss Austen, for your daring, rebellion, creativity and honed judgement. To you, perhaps you were simply trying to live on your terms, against societal expectations and despite obligations. Yet your persistence gave us more than novels; it gave us a path. Your fight for economic security through writing led, centuries later, to a girl on the other side of the world finding courage, self-awareness and expressive daring. Your work became her lantern through life’s storms. The more she grew in discernment, the more she understood herself, and you. You are still a guide, a magnifying glass and a springboard for women trying to shake off societal shackles and claim their own authority. We may not have your literary precision to express the depth of our gratitude, but we try, knowing you would understand the attempt. Did you ever suspect, even for a moment, the reach of your words? Vale, Miss Austen. Thank you for your legacy.
Rosemary
Thank you Jane for your fantastic words of wisdom. Since I was 10 years old, I have read your books and I love them so much. All my life I have enjoyed your writing. It’s so romantic and inspiring. Thank you x

Dearest Jane, your words have been a constant, quietly brilliant companion throughout my life. Since the first time I read Pride and Prejudice at the age of eleven, your novels have offered me solace and wisdom through both times of joy and seasons of challenge. For thirty years, the world of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy has been my refuge and inspiration, teaching me the value of intellect, humour, humility, and the courage to remain true to oneself. You are a hero and an inspiration, now and forever.
Francy1975

Your beautiful writings have inspired me.I started reading Miss Austen's works in High School. She was as they say her "own woman". I loved the relationship she had with her sister. May her words live on for ever!!!!

When I first read one of your stories, I was captivated and couldn't put them down. Like most people, I discovered you thanks to Pride and Prejudice. However, I'm one of those who fell in love after Persuasion. I love the way you tell stories and make us experience emotions and surprises.
CAW
Thank you for writing such wonderful stories and sharing them with the world. Those stories have been made into wonderful movies and other regency stories that have allowed men and women of all colors to dream of what it would be like to live as gentle ladies and men during the Regency period. As Jane Austen said, "It isn't what we say or think that defines us, but what we do. " (smile)
Camille
I was a late bloomer. I was introduced to Jane via the 2005 P&P movie at the age of 40. That started a love affair with all the books and movies. I love Jane’s gift for fascinating characters, rich dialogue and details that come alive on the page.
