Happy Easter to all who observe, and welcome to April! March was a quieter, but still fruitful month for Austen news. Let's see what's been going on!

Brandreth fronts new Austen documentary

Giles Brandreth presented a new documentary, In Jane Austen's Footsteps, which aired on Wednesday 31 March on Channel 5. In a Lucy Worsley-esque moment, the former MP dons a bit of period garb. It looks set to be fun. You can catch up on it here.

No Duke for Bridgerton S2?

A shock announcement from Lady Whistledown herself confirmed that heartthrob Regé-Jean Page will not be returning as the Duke for Bridgerton's second season, a reveal that even had Kim Kardashian commenting in shock. I'm sure it's not the last we'll see of the breakout star. Hopefully he finds his way back to another period drama soon!
