Bite the BulletA 'pudding' of flour was made and a bullet (or in more modern times a chocolate or sweet) was placed on the top in the centre. Players then took it in turns to cut a slice of the pudding. If the bullet fell as you were making your cut, you had to fish it out with your mouth, and would naturally mean that the unfortunate player would get covered in flour!CharadesAlthough it's a modern game too, charades was a highly popular game in Regency times too. Harmless fun for all the family; it's clear to see why this game is an enduring classic. Mistletoe Shenanigans Not specifically a game, but treated a bit as one. Large balls of mistletoe would be hung from the rafters, and whenever a young woman was found under the mistletoe by a gentleman, he would pluck a berry and claim his kiss. The young lady could not refuse a kiss when caught, so the Elizabeth Bennets of the world had to be on the lookout for young men like William Collins! When the berries had all been plucked, the mistletoe would be taken down, and any young lady who had not received a kiss could not expect to be married that year.
