Steventon Primrose Necklace

Sale price£15.00 GBP

This necklaces is named after the flowers that grew in Steventon, the birth place of Jane Austen.

In Constance Hill’s description of Steventon, in her book Jane Austen, Her homes and Friends, primroses grew along the bank and the under hedgerows of Elm Walk, a well-trodden path that Jane and her sister Cassandra walked each week from their home to church.

Primroses have been a part of the English countryside since the 16th century and even before.Their delicate and fresh appearance often represents youth and young love. In the language of flowers, it can convey the message, "I can't live without you," making it a symbol of deep affection and romantic devotion.
