Jane Austen's Ring Replica in Turquoise and Sterling Silver
A stunning bespoke recreation of one of Jane Austen's only known pieces of jewellery - and the most iconic by far.
Our ring is an adapted design of Jane Austen’s iconic Gold and Turquoise ring, crafted from Sterling Silver and set with a beautiful Turquoise stone. Carefully created by our trusted jewellers in Somerset, our bespoke ring has been custom-made exclusively for the Jane Austen Gift Shop. Inspired by Jane Austen's own possession, one of only three pieces of jewellery that was known to have been worn by her, the iconic ring can be specifically crafted to your own ring size. Following Jane’s death in 1817, the ring was kept by Jane’s sister Cassandra, and then passed to Eleanor Jackson, Jane’s brother Henry’s new wife. The ring was then passed onto Jane’s niece, Caroline Austen. It was given to her in 1863, a year before Eleanor’s death, along with a note, which still accompanies the ring today. The ring continued to be passed down through the Austen family, until it was put up for auction by Sotheby’s auction house in 2012.
Our beautiful bespoke design has been crafted from sterling silver, and set with a turquoise stone, engraved with ‘Jane Austen’ on the inside of the ring. Complete the look with the matching sterling silver Necklace and Earrings. It is also available in gold-plated silver and 9ct gold.
