More about Group Visits

The Jane Austen Centre Visit

Your Centre visit begins with a warm welcome and introductory presentation talk from one of our knowledgeable and experienced Guide-Actors. This takes place on the first floor of this attractive Georgian town house, in a classically decorated period room.

Following the presentation your group is taken through our interactive Exhibition where their visit continues at their own pace, finishing in our well-stocked Gift Shop. If you have any questions on Jane Austen or Bath our staff are always close at hand and very happy to answer them.

The Regency Tea Room

If your visit is more leisurely you may like to enjoy some refreshments in our lovely Regency Tea Room on the second floor. Serving real leaf teas, homemade cakes and light snacks, our friendly Tea Room staff will be delighted to welcome you. The Tea Room is available for exclusive hire. Contact the Group Organiser for details. You can view the Regency Tea Room menu here.

Special ‘Out of Hours’ visits

For groups of 50 or more, for your comfort, we recommend out of normal hours visiting, either before 9.45am in summer (10.30am in winter) or after 4.30pm summer (3pm in winter). ‘Out of Hours’ groups have the added bonus of exclusive use of the Centre.

School and Further Education visits

We can cater for most ages and abilities of students. Where possible, we will tailor our introductory talks to suit your group’s educational needs. Quizzes and other supporting materials are available. For a really excellent taste of Jane Austen’s Bath, why not include a walking tour with your visit to the Centre? The perfect way to bring the novels to life!
