Vanaf het bureau van Lisa Galek: In 2012, De Lizzie Bennet-dagboekendebuteerde op YouTube. Slimme, zelfverzekerde (en slechts enigszins benoemde) Grad Student Lizzie Bennet berichten video's twee keer per week alles over haar leven, vrienden en familie. Het internet werd snel verliefd. Maar er waren enkele dingen die Lizzie niet in haar video's kon delen. Gelukkig hield ze een dagboek ... en nu krijgen we het eindelijk om het te zien. Het geheime dagboek van Lizzie Bennet is een metgezelboek voor de uitstekende LBD-webserie. Als je het nog niet hebt gezien, ben je absoluut mis. Elizabeth Bennet wordt getransformeerd in een 24-jarige afgestudeerde student uit Californië met haar eigen videogeblog. Ze paalt allerlei inzichtelijke en hilarische inhoud over haar gekke familie, die haar twee zussen-zoete Jane en Energetic Lydia omvat. Oh, en een zekere saaie, benauwdheid, en ongelooflijk onbeschofte kerel genaamd William Darcy verschijnt af en toe op (maar laten we niet over hem praten omdat Lizzie hem gewoon niet kan uitstaan). De video's zijn een absoluut geweldige update over Trots en vooroordeel. Zeer slim, heel grappig en heel Jane. Maar als je niet al redelijk bekend bent met deze informatie, Het geheime dagboek van Lizzie Bennet Zal niet echt logisch voor je maken. Het boek is erg vastgebonden in de webserie - zo veel dat het vaak voelt als een herdeling van de inhoud van de video's. Lizzie begint en eindigt haar verhaal zoals haar Vlogs. Ze begint met het uitleggen van het nieuwe online project dat ze op het punt staat aan te gaan en eindigt met een gelukkig-ooit-daarna dat een austen-ventilator glimlach maakt. Ze transporteert soms zelfs hele scènes rechtstreeks vanuit de video's. (Om eerlijk te zijn, het is alleen de echt belangrijke.) De grote gelijkspel voor dit boek is de belofte van nieuwe inhoud (in feite, dat lijkt op hun belangrijkste marketingbericht per deze nieuwe videos van Lizzie en Darcy). Ik hoopte dat het boek echt in dit gebied zou leveren. De webserie is tenslotte gebaseerd op een 200 jaar oud verhaal dat iedereen met toegang tot de noten van Cliff het einde van is. Toch voelt elke video het origineel van Austen fris, boeiend, interessant en echt grappig. Als iemand een geweldige tie-in roman zou kunnen aftrekken, zou het de mensen zijn Digitaal pemberley. Helaas zijn deze nieuwe TidBITS misschien niet genoeg om een heel boek te rechtvaardigen. Natuurlijk, het is netjes om de brief van Darcy aan Lizzie in print te zien en om wat meer tijd te krijgen met Mr. en Mevr. Bennet. Er is nog wat koel achter de scènes type spullen over het maken van de video's en meer Frank Details over de Bennet Sisters en hun sexy tijden die het niet aan de lucht haalden. Maar al dit soort dingen bestonden al op de achtergrond van de video's als subtekst al. Zijn die kleine, nieuwe details echt de prijs van toelating waard? Een van de dingen die ik dol heb op het boek, is dat we de hele tijd in het hoofd van Lizzie zijn. Natuurlijk, ze vertelt bijna alle video's, maar die zijn voor publieke consumptie. Soms houdt ze vast wat ze echt denkt, en hier krijgen we meer ongefilterde toegang. En, aangezien het boek is geschreven door twee van de schrijvers uit de webserie, nagel ze de stem van Lizzie. Op de pagina is ze net zo slim, grappig en geweldig als ze op video is. Eerlijk gezegd, het feit dat het schrijven echt sterk is en meeslepen, redt dit boek soms een beetje saai. Omdat ik zo'n enorme fan van de webserie ben, was ik super enthousiast om te lezen Het geheime dagboek van Lizzie Bennet. Helaas kan de extra inhoud gewoon een volledig boek rechtvaardigen. Als je van haar Vlog houdt en geen genoeg kunt krijgen van elk klein Lizzie Bennet-detail (of wil ik gewoon de makers ondersteunen), zou ik zeker voorstellen om een kopie te krijgen. Anders kunt u veilig zijn om de serie opnieuw te bekijken of een gezonde obsessie te ontwikkelen met de nieuwste Austen-update van Pemberley Digital Emma goedgekeurd. Ik ben er al veel voor.
