Not only will you receive a regular newsletter, you will also get priority booking for the festival events. Many of our most popular events including balls, theatrical performances & smaller workshops sell out incredibly quickly so priority booking* will help increase your chances of securing these. Your annual Festival Friend Membership fee also helps to support the continuation of The Jane Austen Festival and you will receive various other perks and discounts announced throughout 2025.
For the special 250th anniversary year of Jane Austen's birth in 1775, we have decided to amend how our Festival Friends subscription works. For the first time we will be separating our Festival Friends into two categories, Summer Ball Friends, and then September Festival Friends. Don't worry, both friendships are equally important to us, and the same style of behind the scenes Festival sneak-peeks will still be shared with you all!
We are aware that our Festival Friends often only attend Bath for either a Summer Ball or the September season, so this should make for a fairer division of Regency dancing opportunities, and enable the Festival team to more accurately predict just how many Ball tickets and other Regency event tickets will be in demand for our wonderful Festival visitors.
You can sign up to one or both Festival Friend memberships depending on when you are planning on joining us in Bath for events. Newsletters for the Summer Ball Friends will simply cease after the 30th June 2025.
Summer Ball Friend Membership

- Advance notice of the two Jane Austen Festival Summer Ball weekend event details
- Priority booking for up to four tickets to each of our 2025 Summer Ball weekend events
- You will also know that your fee helps support the continuation of this wonderful festival!

September Festival Friend Membership
(Subscription runs January to December 2025)
- A regular email newsletter containing behind-the-scenes updates from the Festival Team.
- Advance notice of all September Jane Austen Festival events
- Advance link to the online Jane Austen Festival full programme of events for September.
- Priority booking for September Jane Austen Festival events (up to 4 tickets per event for each Festival Friend Membership)
- You will also know that your fee helps support the continuation of this wonderful festival!
On sale from 1st December - price tbc
*Please note that becoming a Festival Friend does not guarantee you will be able to book all your desired tickets; some smaller events sell out very fast during the priority booking period, so we strongly advise booking early to avoid disappointment.
