Venue: Bath Elim Church, Charlotte St, BA1 2ND
Under the expert guidance of Sylvia Spilsbury from Bath Theatrical Costume Hire, create and cover your own parasol with an exclusively designed canopy.
Pre-select your fabric to complement your costume. The parasol comes with a longer, detachable handle and matching storage sleeve. Leave with a completed parasol, a pattern, and the knowledge of how to create your own canopy to change as you please.
All materials included along with complimentary tea and cake.

A reticule for a daytime promenade or an evening Ball is a must! Under the expert guidance of Sylvia Spilsbury from Bath Theatrical Costume Hire, using vintage sewing machines, create your very own reticule.
Pre-select your fabric and choose from an assortment of designs to complement your costume. You’ll take home a beautiful personally designed creation. ‘Make your own’ gift packs will also be available to purchase after the workshop (5 styles – one pattern).

Pre-select your fabric and choose from an assortment of designs (straw or fabric bonnets, satin or fabric turbans) to complement your costume. You’ll take home a beautiful personally designed creation.

A warm and friendly welcome is waiting for you at the Jane Austen Centre. From the polite bow and greeting on the doorstep to the costumed Austen characters inside, nothing is too much trouble.
Visit the permanent Exhibition and try on Regency costumes, learn the language of the fan, write with a quill pen and see the world-famous life-sized Jane Austen waxwork.
Regency Tea Room – 9.45am to 5pm

Situated on the 2nd Floor of the Jane Austen Centre is the very popular Regency Tea Room, with the most delicious cakes and of course excellent afternoon tea – ‘Tea with Mr Darcy’. Rest your reticule, meet up with other Festival enthusiasts and enjoy the Regency atmosphere whilst savouring a pot of real leaf tea – Assam or Jane Austen blends are particularly good or for a more delicate flavour why not try Earl Grey?
