Terms and Conditions of Summer Ball Friends and September Festival Friends membership…
- Please carefully read the table explaining the two different types of membership (Summer Ball or September Festival Friends membership), to decide which one is right for you.
- Both Summer Ball Friend and September Festival Friend memberships are not a guarantee that you will get tickets to all the events that you want.
- If you are purchasing membership as a gift for someone else, please make sure the gift-receiver’s details and email address are submitted to us on the sign-up page. This will then become the email address associated with the membership.
- The purchase confirmation email will be sent to the email address entered on the payment page, so if the membership is a surprise gift for someone else, make sure you put your own email in on the payment page to keep the secret!
- On purchasing either Summer Ball Friend, or Festival Friend membership you will be issued a Member ID code. Keep this code safe as you will need to input this to be allowed to purchase tickets during the priority booking period.
- The confirmation email for your membership purchase, which will include your Member ID code, will come from our ticket provider FareHarbor, please check your spam if this does not immediately arrive in your inbox.
- Both Summer Ball Friends and September Festival Friends memberships are limited to buying four tickets for each event - these don’t necessarily have to be bought at the same time, but everyone with a ticket bought in the same transaction must arrive together for those events.
- Tickets bought in the same transaction, must arrive at events together. For example if you buy four tickets using your membership, all four ticket users must arrive at the event at the same time; we will not allow three people into an event, followed by one person on the same booking arriving later.
- If a Member ID number attempts to purchase more than 4 tickets for the same event, these additional tickets may be cancelled and your access to that event denied.
- All our communication is via email, therefore it is important that you mark the address festivaloffice@janeausten.co.uk as not spam and add it to your address book. If you don’t do this, there is a danger you may miss important information, including the booking link for tickets.
- You will receive priority booking information via email, including a link to the booking page and information about when the link will go live.
- You may not share the priority booking link with anyone else. It is only for use by your Summer Ball Friends or September Festival Friends membership email address and Member ID.
- The priority booking period for both Summer Ball Friends and September Festival Friends membership will be one week. After this tickets will go on general sale. Once general sales begin, Summer Ball friends and September Festival Friends may purchase additional tickets.
- Please note that tickets in your basket cannot be held whilst you shop for other event tickets.
- Your tickets are only secure once you have completed the payment page transaction. Up until this point, other people who are quicker may still purchase the event tickets that are in your basket. This is important to note for our Regency balls, which sell out very quickly.
- Any discounts or offers given during your membership period are only for use by your Member ID.
- If you buy Summer Ball Friends or September Festival Friends membership after 1st January, any previous newsletters will be forwarded to you.
- Newsletters are usually sent on the first Friday of each month.
- Summer Ball Friends and September Festival Friends memberships are limited in number and are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
This is to assist the Festival team to ensure all membership holders have the opportunity to attend a Regency Ball. - The Jane Austen Festival Summer Ball Friend Membership, and the Jane Austen Festival Friend Membership, are separate from, and do not share any perks or discounts with, the completely separate membership product sold via the Jane Austen Centre Gift Shop.
Similarly the Jane Austen Centre membership does not include any of the Jane Austen Festival Friends perks.
You must be a Friend of the Jane Austen Festival to gain priority booking for any Festival event.
